Macbook Setup:
Installing OBS:
Step 1: Start your download of OBS: https://obsproject.com/

Step 2: Select your computer type: MacOS
Step 3: Once you select MacOS, your download will start taking place.
Step 4: Once your download is done, it will prompt you to open the application on your computer. It will look like this:
Step 5: Navigate to the top left corner menu and select OBS then Preferences
Adjusting Settings:
Step 6: After selecting “Preferences” this settings menu will appear.
Step 7: Select “Stream” on the left side.
Step 8: Select the “Stream Type” to be “Custom Streaming Server”
Step 9: Copy this URL into the URL box:
- rtmp://rtmp-lb.drund.com/live
Step 10: Paste your Stream Key that has been assigned to you in the Stream Key box.

Step 11: Next, select the “Output” tab on the menu, and change your Output Mode to Advanced, your Bitate to 3000, and Profile to high.
Step 12: On that same screen, select the Audio tab. Under the “Track 1” tab, change the Audio Bitrate to 128.
Step 13: Select the Video tab, on the left menu and make the following adjustments:
Base Resolution
1280x720
Output Resolution
1280x720
Common FPS Values
30
Step 14: Select OK when done.
*NOTE: You will not have to edit these settings every time. You will only need to set these OBS settings during your first setup.
Add Built-In Webcam:
Step 15: Next, add your built-in web camera. Navigate to the Sources box on the bottom and select the ‘+’ icon on the box and select “Video Capture Device”
Step 16: After selecting “Video Capture Device” a box will appear to name your device. You can name it “Computer Web Cam” and select OK when done.
Step 17: Select your built in computer webcam under the “Device” section and select OK when done.
Step 18: After you have added your built-In webcam, you will need to adjust your screen to full size to fit the black box. Select and drag the corner of the red box dot to fit it to your screen.
** This is exactly what your stream will look like to your viewers so be sure to use the entire screen real estate**
After you have adjusted the red outlined box to fit the black screen, it should look like this:

Start Stream:
Step 19: When you are ready to start your live stream, select “Start Streaming” on the bottom right corner under “Controls.”
Step 20: Once you select “Start Streaming” your live stream will begin. There is a few second delay once you start your live stream.
Step 21: When you are ready to end your live stream, select “Stop Streaming” under “Controls.” on the bottom right.
*NOTE: All starting and ending live streams are done right through OBS. You will not do anything with live streaming in your Drund community.
Windows Laptop Setup:
Installing OBS:
Step 1: Start your download of OBS: https://obsproject.com/

Step 2: Select Windows
Step 3: Once you select your computer type, select run and your download will start taking place and installation will start when it is complete.
Step 4: Click next, then install the OBS software.
Step 5: Once OBS is installed, it will prompt you to setup the settings, click cancel as this page will explain that process. It will look like this:
Adjusting Settings:
Step 6: After selecting “Settings” this menu will appear.
Step 7: Select “Stream” on the left side.
Step 8: Select the “Service” to be “Custom…”
Step 9: Copy this URL into the URL box: rtmp://rtmp-lb.drund.com/live
Step 10: Paste your Stream Key that has been assigned to you in the Stream Key box.

- (We will provide your Organization’s specific Stream key to you, be sure to secure this key (it can be reset) so only those who have the authorization can use it.
Step 11: Select the “Output” tab on the menu, and change your Output Mode to Advanced, your Bitate to 3000, and Profile to high.
Step 12: On that same screen, select the Audio tab. Under the “Track 1” tab, change the Audio Bitrate to 128.
Step 13: Select the Video tab, on the left menu and make the following adjustments:

Step 14: Select “Apply” when done. Then press “Ok”
*NOTE: You will not have to edit these settings every time. You will only need to set these OBS settings during your first setup.
Add Built-In Webcam:
Step 15: The next step is to add a camera. Add a camera source by navigating to the Sources box on the bottom and select the ‘+’ icon on the box and select “Video Capture Device”
Step 16: After selecting “Video Capture Device” a box will appear to name your device. You can name it “Computer Web Cam” and select OK when done.
Step 17: Select your web cam under the “Device” section and select OK when done.
Step 18: After you have added your built-In webcam, you will need to adjust your screen to full size to fit the black box. Select and drag the corners of the red box dot to fit it to your screen.
** This is exactly what your stream will look like to your viewers so be sure to use the entire screen real estate**
